Firstly, Viewsat is a free to air decoder which means you are not going to pay for daily, weekly or monthly subscriptions. Almost all channels on viewsat are free.
It also works with C-Band for Live News, Drama, sports, and entertainment feeds. Viewsat is free for a lifetime and it is easy to install.

Before we proceed, let me give you a clue of the kind of channels that you will be able to view on viewsat.
Interestingly, viewsat receives hundreds of free-to-air channels and supports a maximum of 5000 channels.
The most common channels on viewsat are Religious channels, Nollywood movies, Hollywood, Hollywood action movies, foreign and local news, ethnic Arabic, Thai, Vietnamese, Iranian, Chinese, Asian, European, Glorystar, and African channels on Galaxy 19, and other KU band satellites.

How to Install Viewsat Decoder Properly -Step-by-Step Guide
The following are the steps to properly set up and and install Viewsat Decoder:
- Do a factory Default first before unhooking your receiver.
- Flash the latest factory bin v.2067P for platinum,or v.2068X
- Flash the lastest new release DBPSW_1128X for extreme
- Flash the DBPSW_1127P for platinum, after 100%/Inst/0000,turn (ON) unit
- From your remote, go to (MENU >Installation > Parental Option
- Turn off all settings until completely finished with setup.
- Setup time(GMT)
Note: your (SATINFO) file is the most important part of setup.
- Find the best file for the type of dish,or dishes you have.
Note: Basic is (110.0w or EchoStar 8,10) if you have a file on your receiver that has the older version of 6,8 you will need to change this to 8,10,or 8,X. This is because Dishnet has setup the transponders to look for newer version of this file to work at its best.
- Go to Channel Scan in your Menu click on echostar 7
- Scroll down to Edit TP and click (OK) this will Highlight the Tno
- Back to Channel Scan to echostar 8,X, again scoll down to Edit TPs,click (OK) again and highlight 12239 and (DELETE it)Again this is a spot beam for echostar 7
- Now EXIT and save.
- Get ready to setup you Antenna Setup.
Note: This show’s the setup using DishPro500 LNBFs and a Single DTV LNBF Dish. If you do not have a (Dp) on your LNB’s then use Legacy for your LNB type in setup).

- DiSEqC 1.0…………..Port 2
- Motor ……………….OFF
- ………….None: unless your using a DiESqC Switch 4X1,or a SW2X1,DP34 or DP44 Switch.Use correct settings
- Scan F1, and Save…….(Important) donot scan F2,or Blindscan
- ……………..Echostar7 (119.0w)
- LNB power……………ON
- LNB Type…………….OSC-Dp: Or try Standard> depending on what gives you better signal,and quality
- LNB Freq……………..11250
- ………………..OFF: not using that type of SW.
- TP Freq……………….12239: Spot beam for this Satellite
- Search option……….All
- DiSEqC 1.0…………..Port 1
- Legacy SW………….None
- Scan F1, and Save: Again Do not scan F2 there is (No) reason too.
- ……………… Nimiq1,3 91.0w
- LNB Power…………….ON
- LNB Type………………OCS-Dp: Or Standard if using a single LNB dish 300,or DTV Single LNBF
- LNB Freq………………11250

- TP Freq……………….12370: or the best address you can fined for signal, and quality, search the list for best Freq.

- F1 to scan and save.
- If you EDIT your Channels, go back to Menu, Options (turn (OFF) Auto TP. This will allow you to delete channels without your receiver freezing up.
- Edit channels and Save by clicking EXIT.
- Go back to Menu Options and turn back (ON) Auto TP.
That should be the end of your set up.
Set up Instructions
If you are doing a Standard Scan you may likely come up with up to 800 – 900 channels depending on what you prefer.
This scanning might take up to 30 minutes to complete. It is advisable not to interrupt the system during the scanning.
Finally, remember to place your channel on (150) or Speed Channel, keys will Roll in 2-3 minutes every time and EPG will populate 100% on all Channels.
